Undated, c1360 Charter by William of Ramesay, earl of Fife, to Margaret of Lassell and John of Lassell, her son and to the loger liver of them and to William, son of said John by Elizabeth, formerly granter's daughter, and in the event of death of said William without heirs, to Margaret, Marion and Agnes, daughters of said John and Elizabeth, sisters of said William, of lands of Roughlaw and Holdene in Lothian, in earldom of March. Charter by David Spalding, younger, burgess of Dundee, for souls of deceased James [I], King of Scots and of James II now king thereof, George [de Schoriswod], bishop of Brechin, granter and Isabella, his spouse, his other relations [unspecified], and Sir John Skrymgeoure kt, constable of Dundee, to God and Virgin Mary, Blessed Margaret the queen, and 1 chaplain, to celebrate in the parish church of Blessed Mary the Virgin in Dundee, at foresaid Blessed Margaret's altar, of (1) annual rent of 5 merks scots from tenement of deceased Patrick Forestare in said burgh in Market Street, (bounds specified), (2) annual rent of 20s from tenement of Daivid of Carraile in said burgh, on south side of street called Argaelisgate, (3) 26/8 from land of David of Balbirny, on south side of said street, (4) 16s from land of Richard Smal, on north side of said street, (5) 3/6 from land of John Haldene next to no.4, (6) 13/4 from land of John Wyli in north part of vennel called Kirkwynde, (7) 23/4 from lands of John Thorne in Murrefgate, on south side, (8) piece of burgess land on south side of street called Flucargate. Instrument narrating that Sir James Sandilands of Calder kt and Sir John le Ross of Haukheide kt, procurators for Nichol of Chawmer compeired in presence of chancellor and lords of session (specified), and claimed for said Nichol lands of Baldavy and Maldaviot, to which said lords replied that said lands are lawfully in the King's hands and that if he shows them that he is lawful possessor thereof, 20 Feb 1461/2, they will do to him as law will.
