Letter by Margaret Douglas to Sir James Rolloke relating to the birth of one of his children. (3) [blank], November 17 at Edinburgh. Letter by Argyll to Sir James Rolok on business matters. (4) 1653, March 10 at Inveraray. Letter by Argyll to the Master of Rollo requesting him to stand cautioner in a bond of 7,000 merks to James Carmichaell and relating to measures taken by him to relieve the said Sir James Rollo of all his cautionry on Argyll's behalf. Letter by Margaret Douglas to Lord Rollo asking that his daughter Margaret be allowed to visit her. (11) Modern copies of Nos (1) - (4) and No (8) together with a copy of GD56/88 and a note on the claim of the Rollo family to be heirs of line to the title of Latimer and to the Great Chamberlainship of England, possessed by the Ancaster family. |
