Including: 1. 1538, November 29: Charter of sale by William Crawford and Agnes Shaw, his spouse, in favour of William Anderson, inhabitant of Leith, and Janet Houston, his spouse, of 4 acres of lands of Broughton called Fleurs, in regality and barony of Broughton and sheriffdom of Edinburgh. Witnesses: Sir John Learmonth, vicar of Lasswade; George Main, burgess of Edinburgh, John Downie; James Crawford, serjeant of Edinburgh; William Crawford, son of granter; Donald Fullerton; and Alexander MacNeill, notary public. Signed by granters; 2 tags, seal gone. 2. 1552, May 5: Bond by Robert, Commendator of Holyrood to his tenant and servant John Mathieson, son and heir of deceased John Mathieson in Broughton, over one quarter of lands of Broughton, which Alison Arthurlie, mother of said John, occupies in tack, in regality and barony of Broughton and sheriffdom of Edinburgh. The Commendator has subscribed a feu charter of said lands to Mathieson, in return for unspecified sums paid by latter, and will do his best to obtain signatures of convent to said charter and appending of its common seal by feast of St John Baptist next, under penalty of 400 merks Scots. On paper, no watermark. Signed by granter; outline impression of seal remains. 7. 1582, July 3: Extract registered testament testamentar and inventory of goods of deceased Master Thomas Macallan of Cliftonhall, one of senators of College of Justice, who died 1581, June 5, all as given up by Euphemia Macallan, his daughter and sole executrix, and Patrick Macallan, her spouse.
