Title |
Instrument of Sasine, dated 15th February 1546-7, narrating that there personally compeared an ingenuous young woman, Mariota Barroun [Barron], daughter and heir of the deceased Thomas Barroun [Barron] and one of the portioners of the lands of Tullich, Elrik [Elrig], and Moneak [Moniack], bringing with her a Crown precept of sasine by Mary, Queen of Scots, directed to the sheriff of Inverness and his deputes, in which, after intimating that she had been duly served heir to her said father, who died ten years ago, they are required to give sasine to her in these lands. |

The precept is inserted, and is dated at Edinburgh, 26th January in the fifth year of the Queen's reign. Sasine was given by Thomas Flemyng [Fleming], one of the sheriff deputes of Inverness. Witnesses: John Bailze [Baillie], Finlay Donald Oyrisson, Allan McVilzam [McWilliam] Reach [Riach], William Reach [Riach], Farquhar McJamis [McJames], Alexander Moir, John McVilzam [McWilliam] McGillicheir [McGillechiar], Thomas Gracyh [Grassie - Grassick], Duncan McDonquhy [McDonaghy] Dow, Thomas Bain, Farqhar McFynla [McFinlay], John McValtyr [McWalter], John McEwin [McEwan] McValtyr [McWalter], William McCoren [McCorran], John Dou [Dow], Fynla McEwin [McEwan], Fynla Neil McFynla [McFinlay] Glass, Paul McFynla [McFinlay], Lauchlan Gow, Duncan McQuein [McQueen], and William Gar McCore [?McGorrie ?McQuarrie].
