Description 1. 1796 August 2. Fort Augustus.
Alexander Stewart, sub com of musters, to officer commanding, Dundee.
Is to be at Fort George on 16th curt to muster the troops and then proceeds to Dundee to do the same thing there on 22nd.

2. 1796 August 4. Taymouth.
John McLagan, doctor, to Captain and Adjutant Hector MacLean, Banff.
James Menzies, soldier in Captain Colin Campbell's company, now in tolerable health; rheumatism however incapacitates him for duty.

3. 1796 August 5. St Andrews.
William Vilant, ensign, 1st batt, to Captain McLean, 1st batt.
Asks for another month's leave.

4. 1796 August 6. Hampscote Hall camp.
James Brown, It, and adj, NFH, to Captain McLean.
John McPhee, private soldier in Major Cameron's company of FF Highlanders, has been taken up as a deserter from recipient's regiment; asks for details.
Endorsed with reply.

James Cuthill, soldier, to Hector MacLean, Banff.
Containing medical certificate.

Rundell and Bridge to Breadalbane.
They complain that bill for £1000 has been refused by Messrs Drummonds; they demand £2167 16s 3d.

James MacIntyre to Breadalbane.
Thanks for interest with Lord Stonefield for writer's son in law, anent parish of Ardchattan; mission of Strathfillan about to be vacant; asks for this.

George Rae, lt. governor, Cullen, to Captain H MacLean, 1st batt, Banff.
Baker has no flour till Monday as he must get it from Banff; suggests the ladies should make a visit to Cullen, one of the prettiest little towns they have seen.

Sends an inventory of baggage of three companies landed; the bread contract.

Regimental affairs; payment of men in the band.

Quarters at Banff; Frank has lost 300 guineas at play in one drunken night to Lord Darlington and Major Lynn; writer's interview with the Adjutant General over leave taken by writer and Glenfalloch.

Finds himself no better after a fortnight of the waters; sends memorial for the Duke of York from Lt Murray of the 3rd batt. [wanting].
