Title |
Notarial instrument narrating that Sir James Vallance (de Waloniis) kt, lord of Inchegall, steward of Robert earl of Fyff and Menteth, gave corporal possession, state and sasine to William of Spens, burgess of Perth, and Isabel, his spouse, and the longest liver of them, of the said earl's lands of Athaland, Ketydy and Craigswmqwar, within the sheriffdom of Fyff, and invested them conjointly in the said lands by all their rightful metes and bounds with their pertinents, according to the order which ought to be observed in such acts. Witnesses: Walter [and] Robert Stewart (Scen') kts., John Stewart, Walter of Stradherne, William of Duns, squires, Laurence of Spens and John Clerk (clerico) of Conedy, burgess of Perth. Notary: Andrew Scott, clerk of St Andrews diocese, imperial notary. [In dorso] copy precept by Robert earl of Fyff and Menteth to Sir James Vallance (de Valoniis) kt, lord of Inchegall, his steward of Fyff, for giving state and sasine to William Spens, burgess of Perth, and Isabel Cambell, his spouse, or their attorneys, of his lands of Athaland, Ketydy and Craigswmqwar in his earldom of Fyff, according to the form and tenor of the charter made to them of the aforesaid lands.
