Description [Though termed a charter, this document omits or abridges some of the normal clauses of a charter and has no witnesses. It is torn on the folds, badly gall-stained and faded. Other lands appear to be mentioned before Brabsterdorran, but it may be noted that a retour of 1630 (Caithness, no.17) refers only to the 6d. land of Brabsterdorran (parish of Bower), the extent of which is said to be a 'collare cum habena, vulgo ane doggis collare with ane leisch'. See also 'Origines Parochiales Scotiae', ii, part 2,784-5.]
