Ballantrae United Free Church, Ayrshire, originated as a Free church at the Disruption. A church was built in 1844 and replaced in 1875. The congregation became part of the United Free church at the union of 1900. As such it was in the United Free presbytery of Ayr and the synod of Dumfries, Galloway and Ayr. In 1929 it became a Church of Scotland charge as Ballantrae Ardstinchar, but united with the established church (then Ballantrae Innertig) in the following year. The church and manse were then sold. |
