Admin history Claremont Church, Glasgow, began as Claremont Street United Presbyterian Church with a building in North Claremont Street at La Belle Place (dedicated 1856). It later became Claremont United Free Church and terminated in 1927 on uniting with College and Kelvingrove United Free Church as Claremont (II). Claremont (II) joined the Church of Scotland at the union and terminated in 1957 on uniting with St George?s and St Peter?s as Claremont (III); this in turn terminated in 1963 on uniting with Finnieston as Kelvingrove. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale.
