'Report' and 'A sketch of Earl of Fife's flour and barley Mill-Lead & part of Doveran adjacent'. By William Garden, land surveyor, Laurencekirk. [1:2250] 1 inch = 2.5 Scottish chains. 330 x 460 mm. Ink. Linen backing. Report of the works on the Doveran River including a plan of mill showing mill lead, watch house, remains of cruive dyke and stone quarry. Longitudinal section along lead, detailed explanation and ornamental scroll-work. Note: 'At Glenberry the fifteenth Day of April one Thousand seven Hundred and seventy four Years , In Presence of Sir James Nicholson of Glenberry Bart compeared William Garden Surveyor of Land at Lowrencekirk, who depones that this is a true report of the Works on Doveran River, which he was sent to inspect as above mentioned, according to the best of his skill and judgement. And this is Truth as he shall answer to god. (signed) Ja[mes] Nicholson, J.P. William Garden'. |
