Description |
'Plan of Mains of Edzell in the Parish of Edzell, the property of the right honourable William Earl of Panmure'. By William Panton, M A, surveyor [c 1:3600] No scale. 535 x 818 mm. Ink and colour wash. Relief in hachures. Compass rose. Linen backing. Farm plan coloured to show infield, outfield, pasture and moor. Farm steading, row of cottages in elevation, cott houses, church, castle, summerhouse, roads and bridge noted. Names of adjacent farms. Note on the West Water: 'A great cataract of the water here, commonly called the Lops, where a great plenty of salmon & trout are taken.' Table of contents. Inset view of Edzell Castle from south. |
