'Plan of the farm of Holl, the first farm in the parish of Edzel, belonging to the Earl of Panmure'. By William Panton, M A, surveyor. [c 1:3600] The scale given, 24 Scottish chain to the inch is in error. By comparison the true scale has been computed to be 4 Scottish chains to the inch. 392 x 518 mm on sheet 436 x 564 mm. Ink and colour wash. Compass rose. Watermark. Linen backing. Farm plan coloured to show infield, outfield, pasture and moor. Township of Holl, relics of very antique dyke, dam and roads noted. Table of contents. Names of adjacent farms and lands of Sir David Carnegy. Note: 'This and the ensuing plans of the lowlands of the Parishes of Edzell, Naverre & Lethnot, are drawn by a scale of twenty four Scots Chains to the Inch, each Chain twenty four Scots ells.' |
