2. 1525, Aug 18. Petition by George Geddes of Cuthilhall concerning his surety for William Tweedie, scholar, who was accused of the murder of Lord Fleming. See also JC27/3.
3. 1528, May 19. Petition for liberty by David Scott in Crawfordjohn, accused of the murder of Sir Robert Mader.
10. 1537, Sept 3. Petition for liberty by John Anstruther of that Ilk following his imprisonment in Edinburgh Castle after providing evidence concerning a coquet given by Andrew Wood, customer of Anstruther, Pittenweem and Crail.
14. 1537, Dec 3. Petition by Patrick Duncanson, notary public, asking for the return of his protocol book which he had produced at the Lords' request, as his continued stay in Edinburgh was causing difficulty: "my expenses is failyeit and myself seiklie and evill disposit".
17. 1538, Dec 16. Petition for liberty by Martin Balcaskie, burgess of Edinburgh, following his imprisonment in Edinburgh Castle for refusing to deliver his matin book to the Official of Lothian.
19. 1539, July 11. Petition by John Jameson, Donald Alexanderson and Sir Thomas Strathauchin, chaplain, who were imprisoned without meat or drink and ask to be relieved "out of this payne and lat us nocht die of hunger". |
