Description |
Papers relating to the trial of John Hunter, present prisoner in the tolbooth of Edinburgh, for the crime of theft. Indicted that on or between 1st and 2nd November 1800 break inot the paper mill or warehouse at Springfield parish of Lasswade and steal two large sacks of rags and a desk containing some papers and money all the property of Messrs Strachan and Cameron, papermakers. Trial at Edinburgh 17 Mar 1801, pleaded guilty and sentenced to 7 years transportation. Papers include declarations by John Hunter, letters of execution and diligence against John Hunter. |
