1. Minutes of their Sederunts from [16th ?] February 1673 to 2nd May, 1689.
2. Taxt Roll of the sheriffdom for 1666.
3. Certified Copy of Act of Privy Council appointing commissioners of excise in Selkirkshire: dated 9 June 1670 [Reg. of Privy Council, Third Series, iii p. 172].
4. Certified Copy of Act of Privy Council appointing commissioners of assessment for the shire of Selkirk: dated 4 March 1673. [Reg. of Privy Council, Third Series, IV, p. 23].
5. Supplication of the "poore distressed and impoverished brewars within the burgh of Selkirk" to the commissioners of excise for the shire, asking for permission to brew for the year to come: 5 June 1675.
6. Copy of Circular Letter from Earl of Rothes, Chancellor, regarding the enforcement of the proclamation anent the prices of beer and ale: Edinburgh 21 December 1676 [Reg. of Privy Council, Third Series, V. p. 83]; Form of Bond of Caution for observance of the rules laid down by the foresaid proclamation.
7. Certified Copy of Act of Privy Council appointing new commissioners of excise and of militia for Selkirkshire: dated 3 September 1680 [Reg. of Privy Council, Third Series, VI p. 546].
8. Bond by David Scott, commissary depute of Peebles, tacksman of the excise of brewing within Selkirkshire, as principal, and Walter Scott of Tushelaw, his cautioner, to the commissioners of excise within said shire for the due performance of the duties specified therein: at Selkirk 8th May 1682.
9. Scroll of Bond by David Scott, collector of the Forrest, and his cautioner, to the commissioners of excise and supply for the shire of Selkirk for the due performance of his duties as collector: date on back 15 November 1683.
10. Scroll of an Instrument in favour of Andro Angus, late bailie of Selkirk, and John Watson, messenger there, cautioners for David Scott, collector of the excise and supply for the shire, containing representations made by them to the commissioners regarding their obligations as cautioners which they desire to be free from: at Selkirk 13 June 1684.
11. Scroll of an Instrument containing a protest by Johne Riddell of Hayneing that a meeting at which the Laird of Philliphauch and others were present was factious and seditious as they had no warrant from him as conveener and that as he had appointed a general meeting for 22nd July they were in mala fide to proceed; and also containing counter protestations against Riddell: at Selkirk 17 June 1684.
12. Scroll of an Instrument narrating that Sir William Scott of Harden, knight, compeared in presence of Robert Ewart, notary, burgess of Selkirk, and asked for an extract of the preceding Instrument, which he was unable to furnish as the Laird of Hayning had taken up the double thereof and kept and detained it: at Selkirk 17 June 1684.
13. Certified Copy of an Address by the freeholders and heritors within the shire of Selkirk to the Lords Commissioners of the Privy Council for the shires of Berwick, Roxburgh, Selkirk and Peebles, promising to be at his Majesties service for the suppression of rebellion and offering six months cess in addition to that imposed by parliament; at Jedburgh 15 October 1684.
14. Bond by Francis Scott, uncle to the Laird of Tushelaw, as principal, and Margrat Elliot, Lady Tushelaw, his mother, as cautioner, to the commissioners of supply within the shire of Selkirk, for £154:16: - Scots, being his proportion of the principal sum of £309:12: - due to his Majesties Cash Keeper for the months and half months voluntary supply uplifted by David Scott, his brother, late collector, at Candlemas 1685; at Selkirk 4 June 1686.
15. Discharge by Andrew Ker, fiar of Falldounsyd, in favour of William Plumber, fiar of Middellstead, collector of Selkirkshire, for £57: 4: - Scots for oats corn and straw "for furnishing the magisone att Selkerk" in the months of November and December 1686: at Selkirk 5 January 1687.
16. Similar Discharge by John Marshell, tenant in Greinhead, for £12:15: - Scots due for oat straw for the use of the dragoons at Selkirk: at Greinhead 26 March 1687.
17. "Ane List of the Billetts for sextie and ane horses given to the Erle of Drumlanriges troupe to quarter upon that equall thrid of the shyreffedome of Selkirke lying in Aillwater, Borthwick Water and Foott of Ettricke Watter": date on back, 1687.
18. A duplicate of the preceding list: undated.
19. Certified Copy of an Act of the commissioners of the sheriffdom of Selkirk appointing the laird of Gallowsheilles and others to receive from Mrs. Chisholme, relict of their late clerk, the whole papers, registers etc. that concern the shire and to deliver them to the present clerk: at Selkirk 1 January 1688.
20. List of Billets in the first quarter and division (Douglas quarter) for 60 horses: at Ettrickebridge 29 June 1688.
21. List of the "roomes" within the sheriffdom of Selkirk (being the second and third divisions of the same) appointed for the quartering of the Earl of Drumlanrig's troop, consisting of 61 horses, and of their yearly real rents: date on back 1688.
22. Letter addressed by John Ruyrfurd to John Lithgow, commissary clerk at Melross, with the following accompt: at Yare 29 June, 1689.
23. "Accompt of the valued and reall rent of the lands possesst by John Pringll of Whitbanke and Anna Murray, lady Whitbanke, given up and attested by John Ruryfurd": undated but 1689.
