Title |
Letter Mr. David Kinloch of Gilmerton to Mr. David Anderson, W.S., Carrubers Closs, Edinburgh.
He is to instruct Ila Campbell to make out a petition to Parliament and to ask Sir Lawrence Dundas, if in town, when Parliament will receive petitions. "Sir George Suttie divided his estate yesterday by no rentall, nor no rentall of Bargeny's land, only by the declaration of Mr. Anderson, the tennent, and one Yule, a tennent. They have blundered greatly ..... By their dividing the Lord President wants one hundered pounds Scots to make him up his four hundered. I wish Lord Eliok and you would come out or if you'l come to Salton I will meet you there if you'l write me:" Gilmerton 4 April 1768 |
