Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of Thomas Baillie, W.S., clerk, of the diocese of Edinburgh, notary public, following upon and narrating the precept of sasine in a charter of adjudication (dated 23 February 1753) under the great seal of George II, granting to Sir David Cunnynghame of Milncraig (1) the lands and barony of Robertland, comprehending the 2½ merklands of Robertland, the - merklands of Lochrigg, the 4 merklands of Breadiland, 3 merks 5 shillings and 9 penny lands of Waterland, Halket and Hazelbank, with mill etc., the 6 merklands of Fulshaw, with mill etc. all lying within the bailiary of Cunnynghame and sheriffdom of Ayr, and one-seventh part of the 8 merklands of Waterland and Haulkhead, with mill thereof, lying in the parish of Dunlop, bailiary and sheriffdom foresaid; and (2) the 20 shilling lands of Spittall in the parish of Stewartoun, and the £10 lands of Cambuskeith both in the said bailiary and sheriffdom. Sasine given on 20 March 1753 by Robert Carvell (?), tenant in Breadiland, sheriff in that part, to John Grant, servant of Sir David and attorney for him |

Witnesses to the charter, William, Marquis of Lothian, Clerk Register, Charles Erskine of Tinwald, Justice Clerk, and Robert Kerr, Director of Chancery. Witnesses to the sasine, Andrew Slowane of Skeldon, provost of Ayr, and Alexander Stevinson of Robertland.
