Memorandum and Claim for Mr. John Campbell, cashier of the Royal Bank of Scotland, to the arbiters in the submission between the Earl of Wigtoun and him. Campbell had acquired the teinds, parsonage and vicarage, of the parish of Denny from William Stirling of Herbertshire who in 1743 had raised an action against the Earl of Wigtoun for recovery of the parsonage teinds due from the lands of Catscleugh for 40 years preceding 1723. The action was not proceeded with after the death of the Earl but was wakened by Campbell, who claimed from the representatives of the Earl the sum of £6500: 8: 4 for arrears of the parsonage teinds.
