I. Brieve from the Chancery of George II, addressed to his sheriff and bailies of Air, commanding them to hold an inquest to ascertain if Alexander Dun, son of William Dun in Monkton, was nearest and lawful heir of Robert Dun of Leffanhill, his great grandfather. At Edinburgh 18 July 1746. In dorso:- Certificate of Publication by Bryce Rodger, officer, dated 25 July 1746; witnesses, Patrick Young and Alexander Morrison, sheriff officers in Ayr.
II. Retour of General Service of the said Alexander Dun as heir to his great grandfather. Certified by William Gairdner, depute clerk of the sheriffdom of Ayr. At Ayr 12 August 1746 |
