Letters of Horning under the signet of George II charging James Oswald, portioner of Seamorefaulds, to make payment to John Campbell, cashier of the Royal Bank of Scotland, of the sum of £230: 8: - Scots contained in Bill (dated 10 October 1737) drawn by William Stirling upon and accepted by the said James Oswald, ordering him to pay the said sum to Campbell; which Bill was protested on 15 November 1737 and the protest registered in the Books of Council and Session on 1st May 1738. In dorso:- Certificate of execution by Archibald Neilson, messenger, dated 20 May 1743. Witnesses, James Neilsone, John Young and Andrew Hutton, fleshers in Falkirk. Certificate by George Wood, messenger, that at the Market Cross of Edinburgh on 6 June 1743 he denounced the said James Oswald his Majesties rebell. Witnesses John Mosgrave and William Pollock, Council posts and indwellers in Edinburgh. Registered Gen.Reg.Hornings 7 June 1743, Vol. 668, fol. 1. |
