Copy of Precept of Sasine by James, Earl of Douglas, Lord of Lyddalsdale, addressed to John de Mortimer, bailie of Strathalveyn, narrating that, at the instance of Margaret, Countess of Douglas and Mar, his mother, he had consented to infeft John de Bentlay and the heirs of his body, for services rendered to his mother, in £10 of land within the barony of Strathalveyn, and commanding the said bailie to infeft him in terms of his charter in said lands, which were to be held of the countess for homage and service, ward and relief. |
