Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of Thomas Clark, clerk, of the diocese of Moray, notary public, following upon and narrating the precept of sasine in a heritable bond (dated at Bathgate 1st August 1735) for 1000 merks Scots granted by John Clarkson of Cousland and Agnes Salmond, his spouse, whereby they bound and obliged themselves to infeft James Waddell of Wholehousburn in an annualrent of 50 merks Scots furth of the easterside or easter half of their lands of Cousland lying in the parish and barony of Livingstown and sheriffdom of Linlithgow. Sasine given on 22nd September 1736, on the ground of said lands by Patrick White, merchant in Easter Whiteburn, bailie of the granters, to the said James Wadell |

Witnesses to the bond, James Flint of Moorhall, William Clarkson, only lawful son of the granters, John Salmond, second lawful son of Patrick Salmond of Birkenshaw, Patrick Stonie, writer in Bathgate, and George White of Torbainlees, writer of the bond. Witnesses to the sasine, John Thomson younger, portioner of Folhows and James Clerk, son of the notary.
