Title |
Letters of Tack by Thomas, abbot of Kelso, and the convent thereof, whereby for services done or to be done, they set to their beloved friend and servant William Armstrong, "or tyll his subtenands pure men", eight oxengang of land lying within their bounds of Clarelaw, "fra Blakchester-zet downe the How with the spottis off medo to the Lyntoun Burn, as the said bwrn rynnis to the Watter of Aill, and est throw to the carn off the Mureryg as the Water off Aillrynnis, and so rownd abowt to the Blakchester agan", for 19 years from Whitsunday 1524, at a yearly rent of 10 merks Scots. Attested by the common seal of the chapter (awanting) and the subscriptions of the granters at the said abbey on 1st August 1523 |
