Title |
Charter of Confirmation by John Chancellor of Sheillhill confirming a disposition (dated 18 June 1716) by which the deceased Walter Carmichael in Beatlaws of Lamington, for the greater security of the principal sum of £1957:12: 6 Scots due by him to James, Earl of Hyndfoord, disponed to the said Earl an annual-rent of £140 Scots furth of the lands called the Tower of Cormistoun (occupied recently by Samuel Weir and James Minto, as tenants) lying in the parish of Libertoun and sheriffdom of Lanerk: to which annualrent he has right by (1) heritable obligation (dated 12 November 1708) granted by Andrew Black, merchant, Edinburgh, in his favour, and (2) instrument of sasine (dated 3 April and recorded P.R.S. Lanark 14 April 1710) under the hand of James Laurie, notary public. At Edinburgh 10th September 1722 |
