Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of William Mwr, clerk of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, narrating that by inquest held in presence of James Broun and John Mur, bailies of Irvin, it was found that David Cunynghame, was heir of William Cunynghame of Craganis, burgess of Irvin, his father, in the following subjects lying in the burgh of Irvin viz:- (1) two tenements with pertinents lying in the "magno vico" on the south side of the High Street, between the tenement of John McCarral on the east and the tenement of the late John Kirkvod on the west, (2) a certain tenement or rood of land commonly called Barboris-rig with pertinents lying at the east end of the burgh and on the north side of the High Street, between the tenement of the late Thomas Legat on the west and the lands or tenement of William Cunyngham of Cunynghameheid on the east (3) a certain tenement commonly called Stouttisland with pertinents lying in the Kirkgate, between the tenement of William Reid on the south and the common vennel leading to the Water of Irvin on the north, (4) a certain parcel of cultivated land with pertinents lying within the territory of the burgh near the bridge thereof, between the lands commonly called Newynnis-land on the north and the common of the said burgh lying near the bridge on the south, (5) an annualrent of ten shillings from the tenement of William Wallace with pertinents lying near the Tron, between the tenement of James Boid on the one part and the tenement of Robert Caulduel on the other part, (6) an annualrent of twelve pence ?rom the tenement of the late John Broun, lying between the tenement of the said Robert Caulduel on the one part and the tenement of James Esdel on the other part, (7) an annualrent of four shillings from the two tenements of the late John Hervy (?) with pertinents, lying between the tenement of Lawrence Scot on the one part and the tenement of the late John Porter on the other part, (8) an annualrent of forty pence from the tenement of John Quhit with pertinents lying on the south side of the "magno vico", between the tenement of the late Alexander Miller on the east and the tenement of Sir George Baxter on the west, (9) an annualrent of four shillings from the tenement of Alan Houstoun with pertinents, lying between the tenement of Mr. Thomas Bad on the west and the tenement of St. Peter on the east, (10) an annualrent of twenty eight pence from the tenement of the Carmelite Friars of Irvin with pertinents lying in the place commonly called Legis, between the tenement of George Broket on the one part and the tenement of Alan Haye on the other part, (11) an annualrent of three shillings from a certain parcel of land or yard of Ninian Boil with pertinents lying in the Seagate on the north side of the High Street, between the tenement of the said Ninian on the west and the lands or tenement of the late Hugh Dunlop on the east, and (12) an annualrent of three shillings from the tenement of Walter Michel lying in the Seagate on the south side of the High Street, between the tenement of James Craufurd on the east and the lands or tenement of the late John Kelso of Kelsoland on the west; and that the said James Broun passed personally to the ground of the said lands and annualrents and there gave sasine thereof to William Wycht attorney (constituted by royal letters) for the said David: To be held de supremo domino nostro rege more burgali, paying annually (1) for the two tenements No. 1 supra to the chaplain serving in the chapel of the B.V.M. de Banco six shillings and eight pence of annualrent and to the chaplains serving at the altars of St. Ninian and St. Katerine situated in the church of Irvin six shillings and eight pence of annualrent, together with the burgh ferms, and (2) for Barboris-rig (No. 2 supra) to the lights of St. Christopher, two shillings of annualrent together with the royal ferms and other burdens on said lands |
