Title |
Charter under the Great Seal of Queen Anne, with consent of James, Duke of Queensberrie, High Commissioner for Scotland, and others, commissioners of her Treasury etc., confirming (1) bond (dated 16 March 1699) by the late Patrick Murray of Livingston, whereby, in consideration of the sum of 9000 merks Scots received from Mr. James Lowis of Merchinston, he bound and obliged himself to infeft him in an annualrent of £360 Scots furth of (a) the lands and barony of Livingston comprehending the burgh of barony of Livingston, with the mains thereof, the Peill of Livingston etc., the lands of Breich, Staneburn, Carmanden, Easter and Wester Causlands, Newark and Parks, lying in the parish of Livingston and sheriffdom of Linlithgow, all as described in a charter under the great seal in favour of the late Walter Murray of Livingston, and (b) the temple lands of Newyeardfield, with commonty and common pasturage in the moor and marshes of Drumshorline, lying in said sheriffdom, and the right of patronage of the kirk of Livingston and of the parsonage thereof, which is annexed to the said lands of Newyeardfield, and (2) instrument of sasine GD86/809.
