Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of John Somervell, clerk, of the diocese of Edinburgh, [notary public], following upon (1) bond of corroboration (dated at Edinburgh 13 February 1702) by Patrick Murray of Livingstone, whereby, in corroboration of (a) bond (dated 30th July, 1696) by him to Sir Robert Milne of Blaikburne for 6000 merks, (b) assignation (dated 28th December 1696) by Sir Robert Milne to Hellen and Margaret, daughters of Patrick Murray, merchant, Edinburgh, of said bond, (c) bond of corroboration (dated 20 February 1699) in favour of said Hellen and Margaret, relative to (a) and (b) supra and (d) bond (dated 12th and 13th November 1697) by Patrick Murray and John Drummond of Newtoun to the said Hellen and Margaret for £1000 Scots, he bound and obliged himself to infeft them in an annual-rent of £300 Scots, or in an annualrent corresponding to the principal sum of £5000 Scots, furth of his lands and barony of Livingstone, and (2) disposition and assignation (dated 15 October 1702) by the said Hellen Murray whereby she assigns to Colonel John Murray in the Foot Guards, her spouse, one-half of the foresaid principal sum of £5000 Scots and annual-rent effeiring thereto: In terms of the precept of sasine contained in the said bond of corroboration, William Snodgrass, weaver in Mid Calder, bailie of the granter, gave sasine to John Younger, servitor to Mr. John Murray, advocate, commissary of Peebles, attorney for the said Margaret Murray and Colonel John Murray, of said annual rent furth of (1) the said lands and barony of Livingstone, which are described as comprehending the lands of Lang Livingstoune, Lochshot, the milne of Livingstoune, the lands of Davidstoune, the kirklands of Livingstoune and the several lands and others contained in the said Patrick Murray's charters and infeftments, and (2) in virtue of the general clause contained in the bond, the lands and barony of Blaikburne lying in the parish of Livingstoune and sheriffdom of Linlithgow |
