Description |
Commands them to pay the sum of £500 Stg. out of any military fund not yet appropriated to Sir William Douglas, to whom there is a considerable sum due for his pay as Colonel of a regiment of foot in Scotland, as also for the pay of several officers in said regiment which he advanced, and for clothing the same. He is now in hard circumstances and has suffered loss through his estate in France being withheld from him during the present War. At the Court of St. James 29 March 1703 The cashet is impressed thereon and the letter is signed "By her Majesty's command, Queensberry". |
