Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of Gavin Jameson, clerk, of the diocese of Edinburgh, notary public, following upon (1) the precept of sasine in a heritable bond (dated at Edinburgh 8 February 1698) by Patrick Murray of Livingstoun whereby he binds and obliges himself to infeft Mr. Richard Howison, minister at Innverask, in liferent, and Margaret Darleith, his spouse should she happen to survive him, in liferent also to the extent of one-half, and the children procreated betwixt them in fee, whom failing, Jean and Rebecca, daughters procreated between the said Mr. Richard and Jean Brown, his first spouse, in an annualrent of £160 Scots (being the annualrent effeiring to a principal sum of 4000 merks) furth of the lands and barony of Livingstoun in the parish of Livingstoun and sheriffdom of Linlithgow, and (2) assignation and disposition (dated 30 January 1699) by the said Mr. Richard Howison whereby he, in virtue of the power reserved to him in the bond, assigns and dispones to Jean, Rebecca and Magdalen, his daughters, equally amongst them (the share of any who deceased accrescing to the survivors and to Richard Howison, his second son, equally) the principal sum of 4000 merks contained in the preceding bond. Sasine given on 16 November 1702, by John Sclaitt in the Combfoot, bailie of the said Patrick Murray, of said annualrent of £160 to John Reid in Mid Calder, attorney for the said Jean, Rebecca and Magdalen and of the liferent of one-half thereof to the said John Reid as attorney for Margaret Darleith |

Witnesses to the Bond, Mr. George Pitcarne, commissary of Dunkeld, and John Taylour, his servitour. Witnesses, James Inglis, portioner of Combfoot, Thomas Reid, wright there, Walter Fergusson and John Salmond, weavers in Mid Calder.
