Title |
Supplication by William Rait of Halgreen, prisoner in the tolbooth of Edinburgh, to the Lord High Chancellor and the remanent lords of his Majesty's Secret Council, as follows:- He has been five months in prison which had caused a great indisposition of body through want of fresh air as Dr. Trotter and all in the Tolbooth can testify. His applications have been postponed for want of a quorum, and as his life is now in hazard, he asks for his liberty upon any terms they may grant, or to grant warrant to the Master of the Tolbooth to allow him to go out with a keeper to get fresh air on finding caution not to escape and to return to the Tolbooth at night.
