Title |
Precept of Clare Constat by Troilus Bailzie of Soutarhous, narrating that William Jack, merchant, burgess of Glasgow, grandfather of Elizabeth Jack, spouse of James Bogle, merchant there, died last vest and seised as of fee at the faith and peace of the king in the six shilling lands called Muire-machline and Patonswell, with that part of Langloanemoss pertaining pro rata to said lands (which are proper parts and pertinents of the 30 shilling lands of Padochane), lying between the lands of Dundyven on the south, the lands of Gartsharie on the north, the lands of the laird of Innervicke on the west and the lands of Coats and Wayneford on the east, within the parish of Munkland and sheriffdom of Lanark, and presently possessed by Robert Penner; that the said Elizabeth Jack is his nearest heir and is of lawful age, and that the lands are held of the granter in feu-farm for payment of 12 pence Scots yearly, and for a double of the feu-farm in the first year of the entry of the heirs and assignees of the said Elizabeth thereto: he, therefore, commands his bailies to give sasine to the said Elizabeth and to her husband for his interest of said lands, and should she resign them into their hands in favour of her husband to give sasine thereof to him also.
