Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of George Monro, common clerk of Cuninghame, clerk, of the diocese of Caithness, following upon and narrating the precept of sasine in a charter of resignation under the great seal (dated 28th December 1694) granting to Mr. William Cochrane of Killmaronock the lands described in No. GD86/756, and also the twenty shilling lands of Spittell, with teinds, in the parish of Stewartoune, bailiary and sheriffdom foresaid: all which lands etc. were resigned into the hands of the Lords Commissioners of Exchequer in favour of the said William Cochrane, Sasine given at the manor place of Polkellie, on 24th January 1695, by John Hamiltoune, depute bailie of Cuninghame and bailie of the bailiary of Cuninghame in that part to George Cuninghame of Bridgehouse, attorney for the grantee |

Witnesses to charter of resignation, George Viscount of Tarbet, Clerk Register, Adam Cockburne of Ormistoune, Justice Clerk, and Sir Charles Ker, knight, Director of Chancery. Witnesses to the sasine, James Young in Maines of Polkellie, James Bar in Balgray-milne, Thomas Broune in Mureyeatt and John Camrone in Balgray.
Registered General Register of Sasines 2nd February 1695, Vol.lxviii, fol. 113. The Instrument has been altered after completion and apparently a fresh one written out, as this copy does not contain the docquet of registration. |
