Title |
Instrument of Sasine (defective) under the hand of George Baxtar, presbyter of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, following upon and narrating a Precept from Chancery (dated at Striveling 16 August a.r.1, 1514) addressed to the bailie of Conyghame and his deputes for infefting Jonet, Margaret, Agnes, Anabell, Mariot, Alison and Agnes as heirs of Robert Langmure of Auchinbothi, their grandfather, in the two merklands of old extent of Haikheid with pertinents (held of the King, as Stewart of Scotland), lying in the lordship of Dunlop, bailiary of Conigam and sheriffdom of Are, the said lands being in the hands of the king for 2 years without sasine being taken; and commanding them to take security for 40 merks of the ferms of said lands and 20 merks of relief; Sasine given on 19 October 1514 by John Montgomery, bailie-depute of Hugh Earl of Eglingtone, bailie of Conyghame, to the said Agnes Langmure elder, of one-seventh part of said lands |
