Title |
Obligation by Sir Hugh McCulloch of Piltoun ordaining Mr. James McCulloch, his nephew, who is to succeed to him, to build and set up a decent tomb or monument in the Grayfreir kirkyard "where I am to be interred when God calles me out of this life, like unto Baillie Cheislies or Doctor Young's tomb, bearing my oun and my wife's names and armes with such decent ornaments as is fitting", and to erect and finish it and pay the expenses thereof within a year of his decease. He also ordains him, if it is found that he has not remembered the poor in his will, to pay to the Kirk Treasurer for the poor of the town the sum of 500 merks. At Edinburgh 2 July 1688 |
