Title |
Instrument of Sasine (very defective) under the hand of John McMillan, clerk, of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, following upon and narrating the precept of sasine in a charter under the great seal of King James VII (dated at Edinburgh 29 January 1686) whereby the king, with consent of William, Duke of Queensberry, principal treasurer, John, Earl of Kintore, treasurer depute, and of the remaining lords commissioners of Exchequer, grants to John, Earl of Glencairne, the 40 shilling lands of [over and Nether] Dinmurchie presently possessed by John McColme, Andrew McFedereis, and the cotters of the said John McColm, the 20 shilling lands of Darlae (occupied by David Rinnie) the 10 shilling land of Fell occupied by David Rinnie and James McClymont, his cottar, the ten shillings lands of Fertur (possessed by James McHutcheon) with teinds, houses etc. lying in the parishes of Bar and Dailie, bailiary of Carrick and sheriffdom of Air, which pertained to Gilbert McIlwraith of Dinmurchie until his rebellion for which he was forfeited. Sasine given upon the ground of said lands successively, on 10 September 1686, by Hugh Muir, bailie depute of the bailiary of Carrick, to Mr. David Cunynghame of Milncraig, advocate, attorney for the Earl of Glencairne |

Witnesses to the charter, George, Viscount Tarbet, Clerk Register, Sir James Foullis of Collingtoune, Justice Clerk, Sir Charles Stewart of Pittendreich, knight baronet, and Sir William Ker, knight, Director of Chancery. Witnesses to the sasine, David Rinnie in Darlae, John Rinnie, his eldest son, John McColme in Dinmurchie, John McCall, servitor of John McColme, writer in Mayboill, and Andrew McAdame, servitor of the said Mr. David Cunynghame.
