Title |
Address by the magistrates and councillors of the burgh of Dumfries, and the heritors, merchants etc. within the said burgh, to the Lords Commissioners of his Majesties Privy Council and Justiciary in which, following on representation made to them by the Lord High Treasurer in name of the said Commissioners as to the present state of affairs in the southern and western shires, they make offer to his Majesty of "als many monethes cesse yeirly and for als many yeirs as the Lords of Privie Councill shall think fitt to imposse" and that over and above the present supply payable under the Act of Parliament of 1681, and bind and oblige themselves to live regularly and peaceably |
