Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of Thomas Hammyltoun, presbyter of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, following upon and narrating a Precept from Chancery (dated at Edinburgh 12th May a.r.1, 1514) directed to the sheriff and bailies of Air for infefting John Mwr of Auchindrane as heir of John Mwr of Auchindrane, his father, in the 8 merklands of Monyhagane and Keirmeyn of old extent lying in Kings-Kile and bailiary and sheriffdom of Air (held of the Crown) and in the ten pound lands of Sanquhar-mwr of old extent lying in the bailiary of Air (held of the Stewart of Scotland); and commanding them to take security for 16 merks of the ferms of the said lands of Monyhagane and Keirmeyn and 32 merks of relief duty and for 12 merks of the ferms of Sanquhar-mwr and 24 merks of relief duty.
