Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of John Masoun, clerk, of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, following upon and narrating the precept of sasine in letters of disposition (dated at Glasgow 27 January 1680) by Agnes Cunyngham, daughter of Henry Cunyngham, merchant in Air, heir served and retoured to the late Thomas Knight, last provost, of Air, her uncle, with consent of John Gilmor of Midletoun, her spouse, for his interest, in favour of Mr. David Cunyngham of Mylnecraig, advocate, whereby, in consideration of a certain sum of money paid to them by the said Mr. David, they bound and obliged themselves to infeft him in (1) the ten shilling land of old extent of Twastaincroce with meadow etc. (2) 2 acres of land lying at the Lightmylneburn between the lands of William Cunyngham, elder of Brounhill on the north, the lands of John Craufurd, merchant, and George Angus, younger, on the east, the lands of the said William Cunyngham on the south and the said Lightmylneburn on the west, (3) 2 acres of land lying contiguous in that portion of the lands of the Sands of the burgh called the "common muir" near the chapel of St. Leonard, between the lands of the late Adam Stewart, now of the heirs of Ninian Cunyngham, on the south, and the lands of the late John Jamieson, now of the heirs of William Chalmers, and the common king's highway on the north, all occupied by Robert Ker, William Ker, John Hutcheson, George Hutcheson and Thomas Wilkinet and lying in the parish and sheriffdom of Air, and (in special warrandice of the above lands) (4) the £5 lands of Over and Nether Midletouns, Dodend and Dodhous with houses etc. lying in the parish of Mairnes, barony of Fingaltoun and sheriffdom of Renfrew, Sasine given of Nos. 1 to 3 upon the ground of said lands successively, on 10th February 1680, by Thomas Cathcart, one of the bailies of the burgh of Air, to Patrick Davidson, merchant, burgess of Air, attorney for the said Mr. David Cunyngham |

Witnesses to the letters of disposition, Robert Howstoun, apothecary in Glasgow, Mr. Robert Campbell, indweller there, Robert Anderson, hammerman there, and James Coliour, servitor to Alexander Govan, hammerman there. Witnesses to the sasine, Adam Osburn and Elia Cathcart, merchants, burgesses of Air, Robert Ker, elder, and Thomas Wilkinet yr. indwellers there, and John Fergussoun, servitor to the notary. The letters of disposition are written by James Hay, servitor to James Hay, writer, Edinburgh. |
