Extract from the Court Books of the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright of Bond by Thomas Maxwell of Gelstoun, granting that he had received from Mr James Adamson, minister at Keltoun, the sum of 1000 merks Scots, which he as principal and Robert Maxwell of Kirkhouse and Hugh Maxwell of Cuil, his cautioners, bind themselves to repay by Martinmas 1677; with clause of relief in favour of the cautioners. Witnesses, John Murray, brother of Richard Murray of Brughton, Samuel Maxwell of Neula, and Nicoll Donaldson, notary.
The bond was presented for registration on 27 May 1692 by James Gordon, writer, Kirkcudbright, in presence of Thomas Alexander in Compston and Edward Maxwell of Hills, stewart deputes of the Stewartry. The extract is certified by Jo. Maxwell. |
