Title |
Instrument of Resignation and Sasine under the hand of Mr. Alexander Robertsone, clerk, of the diocese of Aberdeen and common clerk of the burgh of Aberdeen, notary public, narrating that Alexander Gordoun, one of the bailies of said burgh, at the special request of John Gordoun, elder, master of the kirkwark of the burgh, passed with him to the tenement, fore and inner with close, yard and pertinents, lying on the south side of the Nether Kirkgate of said burgh, between the land of the late James Brebner, afterwards of John Cairnie, and the inner land and yard of Henry Forbes, on the east, the land of David Fergusone, afterwards of John Galloway and Robert Forbes, on the west, St. Catharine's Hill on the south, and the common king's highway on the north, and there, in virtue of a resignation (under the hand of the notary, dated 24 April 1675 and produced to the bailie) formerly made by Gilbert Leslie, burgess of Aberdeen, into the hands of George Cruickshank one of the bailies of said burgh, in favour of the late George Wilsone, late Master of the kirkwark of said burgh, and his successors in said office, under reversion and now accepted, gave sasine of said tenement to the said John Gordoun, elder, as successor of the said George Wilsone, for the use of said kirkwark; redeemable by the said Gilbert Leslie on payment of the principal sum of 1000 merks Scots, with annualrent and liquidate expenses contained in obligation (dated 8 January 1668) granted by him and his cautioners to Gilbert Durie, master of the kirkwark: To be held of the King in free burgage for burgh service used and wont. Done on the ground of said tenement on 6 November 1675 |
