Title |
Bond of Relief by Mr. William Nisbett, brother german of Alexander Nisbett of Craigintinny, whereby, on the narrative that Sir Johne Nicolsone of that Ilk, and Charles Chartouris, merchant, Edinburgh, two of the principal tacksmen of the Customs and Excise of Scotland, had appointed him clerk to the Customs at Borrowstounnes, he, as principal (with his brother as cautioner) bound and obliged himself that he would faithfully perform the duties of the said office under a penalty of £100 Sterling in case of malversation over and above any loss or damage incurred: with clause of relief in favor of his cautioner.
