Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of James Wallace, Clerk, of the diocese of Glasgow, notary public, following upon and narrating the precept of sasine in Letters of Obligation (dated 4th May 1671) by John Chalmers of Gaitgirth, whereby, in consideration of the sum of 500 merks Scots, received from Robert Dun in Constable, he bound and obliged himself to infeft the said Robert Dun and Jonet Slose, his spouse, and the longer liver of them, in conjunct infeftment, whom failing Alexander Dun, their son, his heirs and assignees whomsoever, in fee, in the thirteen shilling and four penny land of Downistoune (occupied by the said Robert Dun) lying in the barony of Mertnahame, Kyle Regis and sheriffdom of Air and in an annual-rent furth thereof corresponding to the principal sum. Sasine given upon the ground of said lands, on 18th December 1671, by John Wight in Bratlestoune, bailie of the granter, to the said Robert Dune for himself and as attorney for his spouse and son |

Witnesses to the Letters of Obligation, Mr. John Shaw of Keirhill and William Macadam, servitor to the granter. Witnesses to the sasine, John Edgar in Dallharkow, John Cunynghame in Keirhill, John Slose, portioner of Dallharkow and Robert McCosh [in Downistoune.] The Obligation was written by Andro McAdam, notary.
