Title |
Charter by William, Earl of Roxburgh, grandson and heir of taillie and provision to the late Robert, Earl of Roxburgh, his grandfather, whereby in implement of (1) disposition (of the date of these presents) granted by him in favor of Thomas Bailzie, brother-german of John Bailzie of St. Johne's Kirk, and (2) nomination and designation (dated 23rd February 1648) by the said Robert, Earl of Roxburgh nominating and constituting the granter heir of taillie and his successor in his whole earldom of Roxburgh and lordship and barony of Hallydaine, he granted to the said Thomas Bailzie, his heirs and assignees whomsoever, the kirklands of the kirk of Woulstoun, with houses, pasturages, etc. (possessed by William Bailzie in Woulstoun) lying in the sheriffdom of Lanark, under reservation to the ministers of Woulstoun of the manse, glebe and yard designed to them: To be held de nobis for payment of Scots of feu-farm with three shillings (assium) and four pence Scots in augmentation of the rental more than the said lands paid from the time of the decease of said Robert, Earl of Roxburgh, the heirs of the granter doubling the said feu-farm duty in the first year of their entry to said lands and the granter rendering three suits of court at the three chief courts to be held at Kelso and Hallydaine: With precept of sasine.
