Contemporary Copy of Precept of Warning by Archibald, Earl of Argyle, addressed to James Caddell, his officer and sergeant in that part, commanding him to warn: (1) Mr. Andro Birnie, advocate, William Stirling of Herbertshyre, Archibald Stirling sometime of Coldoch, Margret Haldane, relict of James Stirling of Ballwill, Georg Stirling, his son, James Stirling at the Milne of Keir, Robert Stewart of Ardvorlich, Stewart, his son, James Buchcomane (sic), relict of James Stewart of Ardvorlich, Agnes Birne, relict of Georg Grahame, fiar of Glenie, and - Grahame, her son, for any pretended right, title or interest they may have in the lands aftermentioned, and (2) Archibald Buchanane and John Buchanane in Woodend, John McEllye in Kepdowrie, John McAlleye there, John Gorgoth there, John McGowine and Duncane McGowine in Nether Balairds, Johne Minnoch, Thomas McGowinne in Over Ballaird, Robert Carich at the Mylein, Williame Tomas in Balwill, John Leney there, John McLew there, Walter McFarland there, Margreit Haldaine, liferentrix of the lands of Ballwill, George Sterling, heritor thereof, Acreig (sic) Gilichreist McAvicker, John McColloo, Duncane Leney, John Mcisounne [in ?] Leitell Gleney, Donald Fargisoune, Donald McEwine and Donald Fargisoune, there, pretended tenants and occupiers of the lands of Balwill, Over and Nether Balairds, Kepdourie, Woodend-milne, mill lands thereof and the lands of Achrig and Nether Glenie, to flit and remove themselves, their wives, families, servants, cottars, goods and gear from the said lands at the term of Whitsunday 1667. |
