Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of Alexander Cuninghame, clerk, of the diocese of St. Andrews, notary public, following upon and narrating the precept of sasine in a charter (dated at St. Andrews 13th August 1664) by James, Archbishop of St. Andrews, granting to Mr. David Kynneir of that Ilk, his heirs and assignees whomsoever (1) that part of the lands of Newgraing called Bearflett, having the acres of the Priory of St. Andrews (pertaining to John Barclay, the heirs of James Winchester and John Lepar and occupied by James Balfour) on the north, on the south, the head of Preistedene on the west and the Garras-balk on the east; (2) that part of said lands called Myrebutts (occupied by John Wisheart, citizen of St. Andrews), having the Graingmyre pertaining to the Laird of Kilconquhair on the east and south, the lands of the said Mr. David Kynneir called Walwoods-land on the west and the said lands called Bearflett on the north; (3) that part of said lands called Coucrook (occupied by John Walls, citizen of St. Andrews), having the lands of Newgraing pertaining to the Laird of Kilconquhair on the west, the Graingstank on the east and the said lands of Bearflett on the north and south; (4) that part of said lands called Bentiegrein or Bentts, with a butt of said lands on the east side of the highway occupied by Catharine Young, having the lands of Newgraing pertaining to Hew Scrymgeour on the south, the said lands of Bearflett on the north, Coucrook on the west, and the Kilffleets on the east; (5) that part of the said lands called Ferniehillock (occupied by John Mous, indweller in St. Andrews) having the said lands of Kilffleetts on the south and east, the Lon on the west and the Ward on the north; (6) that part of said lands called Langlandbutts (occupied by Catherine Dick) having that part of said lands called Langlands on the south, that part called Corfletts on the north, the Pyplit on the east, and the burn on the west; (7) that part of said lands called Wester Langlands (occupied by John Dick elder) having the Lon on the west, the stryp running towards the north on the east, the lands of Easter Graing on the south and the said Longlandbutts on the north; (8) that part of said lands __________ called the Wards (occupied by John Dick and David Wallace) having Graing Crose on the east, the Bearflett on the west, the Garras on the north and the foresaid Fernie-hillock on the south; (9) that part of said lands called Croseletts (occupied by John Clerk) lying runrig in the Shed having the Pyplit-burne on the east, Grainge Crose on the north, Langlands on the south and the Wards on the west; and (10) that part of said lands called Easter Langlands (occupied by George Broun) having Balmungie-bogs on the south, Langlandbutts on the north, the Pyplit on the east and [ ] on the west; together with the houses and yards built upon said lands and occupied by Robert Knows and Catharine Young. Sasine given upon the ground of said lands on 16th September 1664 by Thomas Moncreiff, lawful son of the late William Moncreiff of Randerstoun, bailie in that part, to the said Mr. David Kynneir |

Witnesses to the charter, Thomas Moncreiff, lawful son of the late William Moncreiff of Randerstoun, Alexander Cuningham, notary public, and David Blak, his servitor. Witnesses to the Sasine, John Dick, elder, maltster, in St. Andrews, David Blak, servitor of the said Thomas Moncreiff, John Wilsone, maltster in St. Andrews, and James Huttoun, servitor of the said John Dick.
