Title |
Instrument of Resignation under the hand of John Cunynghame, notary public, narrating that Androw Douglas, one of the ordinary macers of Exchequer, procurator specially constituted by (a) procuratory of resignation contained in Letters of Disposition (dated 9 and 10 June, 27 July and 10 August 1664) granted by Mr. William Wallace of Helingtowne, advocate, with consent of Alexander, Earl of Glencairne, son and heir of the deceased William, Earl of Glencairne, Lord High Chancellor of Scotland, and brother of the deceased William, Lord Kilmaris, Robert, Bishop of the Isles, Johne Cuninghame of Baidland, son and heir of the late Johne Cuninghame of Baidland, Anna Cuninghame, spouse of the said Bishop of the Isles and one of the three sisters of the late Johne Cuninghame of Cambuskeith and Elizabeth Cuninghame, spouse of the said William Wallace and also one of the three sisters of the said Johne Cuninghame, in favor of David Cuninghame, younger of Robertland, son of Alexander Cuninghame, brother german of Sir David Cuninghame of Robertland, and (b) procuratory of resignation, dated 19 August 1664, granted by the said David Cuninghame, resigned (1) the said Anna and Elizabeth's two-thirds part of the £10 land of old extent of Cambuskeith described in No. GD86/640 and (2) the said David Cuningham's one-third part of said lands, into the hands of the commissioners of His Majesty's Exchequer, in favour of the said David his heirs, successors and assignees whomsoever, by delivery of staff and baton into the hands of John, Earl of Rothes, principal thesaurer of Scotland, and that the said Earl on behalf of the commissioners thereupon delivered back again the said lands to the said David Cuninghame by redelivery of the staff and baton into the hands of Androw Douglas, his procurator: Done in the High Exchequer House within the burgh of Edinburgh on 19th August [1664] |
