Title |
Extract from the Court Books of Exchequer of Disposition by John, Earl of Lowdoun, whereby in terms of (1) Act of Parliament dated June 1633 appointing an annuity furth of the teinds of Scotland to be collected for the use of the late king, (2) commission (dated at York 7 May 1642) under the great and privy seals giving power to the granter to sell to the heritors the annuity due from the teinds of their lands which was ratified by the Convention of Estates on 16 August 1643 and by parliament on 14 July 1644, (3) capitulation (dated 12 March 1655) entered into between General George Monck commander in chief of the forces in Scotland, and the granter, ratified by the Lord Protector with advice of his Council in England on 7 and 9 August 1655 and by parliament on 17 September 1656 and (4) act of the Court of Exchequer dated 27 January 1658 renewing former acts in favour of the granter, and in consideration of the sum of £256:12: - Scots paid to him by John Muire of Auchindraine, he with consent of the Commissioners of the Court of Exchequer, disponed to the said John Muire the annuity due to the late King furth of the teinds of the lands of Auchindraine, Minihaigen and Cloncaird in the parishes of Mayboll, Cultoun and Kirkmichaell within the sheriffdom of Air. Description |
Witnesses, George Campbell, second lawful son of the granter, and Hugh Pennango, servitor of James, Lord Machline. James Abernethie, advocate, is procurator for registering the disposition in the Books of Exchequer.
