Title |
Charter by John, Lord Hay of Zestir and Ethcarmure, granting to Andrew Blacater of that Ilk as nearest heir of the late Sir Baldred Blacater, knight, his uncle, the five pound lands of Ethcarmur with pertinents, viz:- 4 merks of his lands in the town of Davidisdiks occupied by Walter Caldor and George Russall, 2 merks of his lands of Daryngavell occupied by John Fairhome, one merk of his lands of Ethkerhed occupied by Adam Maluile, and a half merk of his lands of Somerside formerly inhabited by the relict of the late Robert Johnsone, lying in the lordship of Ethcarmure and sheriffdom of Lanark; which lands were acquired by the said Baldred Blacater from John, Lord Hay, father of the granter, by pure vendition and alienation conform to charter in his favour; To be held de me, rendering therefore one penny Scots of blench duty at the feast of St. John the Baptist. Attested by the seal (awanting) and subscription of the granter at Edinburgh 27 July 1511 |
