Title |
Tack by William, abbot of Kylwynnyn, with consent of the convent thereof chapterly gathered, whereby they set to their wellbeloved familiars and servants Huchoun Culper, Patrik Salmont and James Rankyn and their assignees, "beand ane of the barnis gottyn wytht thair bodeis", the "sukkyn" of their mills of Kylwynnyn with pertinents on the west and east sides of Garnok, "siclykwys as Den Ferguys Culper and Andro Boide browkyt in thar tymmys, wytht damsilver, multir, myllandis and all other profettis pertenande to the saide myllis", for 19 years from the term of Lammas 1511, at a yearly rent of £16 Scots. It is also provided that the granter's goods shall be first served and "multir fre" according to use and wont, and that if it should happen that the said mill should want water, the lessees shall pass or "gar" pass with the granter's goods "quhar thai may be best sped and furnyst" to the good and profit of the granters at the expense of the lessees: also that the said lessees shall big and uphold the said mill so that the lord and the sucken "be nocht in falt", receiving the necessary wood, earth and stone for the same from the granters.
