Title |
Precept of Sasine from the chancery of Oliver, Lord Protector, addressed to the sheriff of Ayr and his deputes, for infefting Elizabeth Cunynghame, as one of the three nearest and lawful heirs of John Cunynghame of Cambuskeith, her brother-german, in one-third part of the £10 land of old extent of Cambuskeithe, lying on the north side of the Water of Irving as the said water now runs, with tower, fortalice, manor place etc., within the bailiary of Cunynghame and sheriffdom of Ayr, taking security for [£7: 2: ] 4 Cf. `Liber Responsionum,' 1648-1659, fol. 128. being a duplication of the feu-ferm and augmentation for said third part: which lands were held of the late King as prince and steward of Scotland and a precept obtained from his chancery dated 14 [November] 1651 for infefting her therein but on which no sasine was taken.
